Updated: Mar 1, 2021

Beautiful unspoilt blue flag beaches make Pennington a very special place to visit.

Quiet, clean and dog friendly - the beaches of Pennington make for a truly special holiday. Warm all year round makes for good swimming any time! The rockpools at lowtide are great for swimming and exploring!

Pennington Main Beach. Situated just off Pennington Drive. Have fun in the low tide tidal pool while the waves knock you around - see who can last the longest! Enjoy lunch at the Kiosk run by the Pennington Conservancy – with the best coffee in town! Lifeguards are on duty during peak seasons and school holidays. Here you can go crayfish diving and collect black mussels on the rocks. (Permits can be bought).

Nkomba Beach. Off Shad drive and butting onto Salmon drive. Enjoy the sunsets from the deck of the Pennington Ski Boat Club while dining at The Anchored Boat Restaurant and Pub. Lifeguards are on duty during peak seasons and school holidays. Children can play on the grass and you can watch the boats coming in after a day at sea.

Kelso Beach. Along Salmon Drive. Discover rock pools full of sea life at low tide. This beach is very popular with fishermen who fish for shad and Garrick amongst other fish. You can walk all the way to Rocky Bay along this beach.

Scottburgh Beach. 12 minutes drive South from Pennington. A great place to sit on the grass embankment and watch the beach and sea. Lovely swimming pools, supertube and lagoon. Safe swimming area with lifeguards. Restaurants right on the beach offer fantastic views.
